This site is a tribute to Barbara Mary Bernesi. born in Carlisle on 23rd November 1948. She passed away in the early hours of Wednesday 15th April 2020, aged 71 years old. She is much loved friend, wife, mother and grandmother. She will always be remembered for her sagacious, spirited and sincere character.

She was an inspirational teacher and a devoted and caring and loving wife to Mauro, mother to both Chiara and James and grandmother to Orson, Leo and Sophie.  

Over the last 10 years she at first battled courageously then later silently endured the crippling symptoms of early onset Alzheimer’s disease. May she now rest in peace.

Thank-you to the many friends and family who have offered support, friendship and love to both Barbara and her family. You are very much appreciated.

Barbara wishes for her ashes to be buried alongside her parents at their graves in Upperby Cemetery, Carlisle. We will be postponing Barbara’s memorial service until the pandemic has passed and we can celebrate her life appropriately. Therefore, Barbara's memorial service will be announced and arranged at a later date
